Hello Everyone, I think that along with drunkard songs that we were discussing earlier, another type of song in which G has obvious expertise are songs sung in the pathos mood. In fact, some of these were his biggest hits. Among them are "bhrathukantha bhAdhagA. . . bommanu chEsi," "amA ani arachina" and similar songs. G does especially well in situations that require a great deal of emotion, whether it be anger, sadness, or drunkeness as was described in earlier proceedings. I think another most interesting aspect of G and emotional music is the way in which he renders padyams in an angry way. A very astute observation here would be the ones from Pandava vanavaasam. Especially in the scene where draupadi is nearly disrobed. The tone of those padyams is perhaps the most angry and fearful tone of voice G exhibits. There are many more similar examples that I'm sure our group members can address. . . . sridhar ============================================================================== Cry without weeping talk without speaking scream without raising your voice (U2)
