Sahiti Sadassu

The First America Telugu Sahiti Sadassu held in Atlanta, Georgia was a
tremendous success.
The symposium was proudly hosted by Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta
and was organized
by the Vanguri Foundation. This outstanding symposium resulted in
several landmark
achievements and documented "Telugu Sahityam" at never before seen
intensity.

The symposium was held on May 23rd and 24th , it attracted an unexpected
record crowd of 130
people by lunch time on May 23rd The spacious venue, availability of
the right equipment like
overhead projectors, laptops, internet etc made this symposium a truly
professional one.

Of course, the best part of the symposium was the extraordinary papers
submitted by the
participants. The literary works of dignitaries from all over the USA
were simply outstanding, to
name a few Velcheru, Choudary Jamapal, Vemuri, Veluri, PALANA, Satyam
Mandapati,
Chitten Raju, Gavarasana, Putcha, Chavali, Cherukuri etc. and the
impressive list goes on. The
highly qualified stars of the Telugu literature from India were
absolutely delightful, apt and
presented the contemporary status of Telugu literature in Andhra.

Since this was THE FIRST Telugu Sahiti Sadassu at this scale,
considering the number of
presenters, an innovative experiment in presenting the sessions was
tried for the first time ever.
While most things worked very well, there is scope for improvement on a
few important topics
such as: time management, inclusion of break-away sessions,
establishment of session
coordinators, moderation in Telugu etc. The feedback on the symposium
was exceptionally good,
and very encouraging as presented below.

I take this opportunity to congratulate every "Telugu Sahityam thinking
individual" that
presented, participated, supported or cheered for this great cause.

I take this opportunity to thank everybody involved in making this
significant event happen.
